This is playing with the concept of artificality and naturalism. Sculpturally made through installation and narrative, intend to leave the hair items within nature to degrade and evolve which will reveal a different beauty. It can be labeled as immersive art, capturing a process of change. Inspired through the way things are pinned up against poles in the street and how nature grows on top of things such as brick.

things that come to mind are a) hussein chalayan's csm degree collection which was wedding dresses, all white naturally, which he buried in the ground. left them for a couple of days and then dug them up again before displaying them. i love that idea of natural degration. with hair it might be even better.
ReplyDeleteb) theres a famous quote by Edward Kemper (american serial killer): Reporter to Ed Kemper: "What do you think now when you
see a pretty girl walking down the street?"
A: One side of me says, 'Wow, what an attractive chick,
I'd like to talk to her, date her.' The other side of me
says, 'I wonder how her head would look on a stick?'
its an odd one. but when i saw those graphics, its the first thing i thought about hehe.
