This post looks at a range of things such as ideas associated with the materialism of today,for example the amount of botox celebs used can be visualised as stains on the face, like dirty washing or something, marks on fabrics etc . This links to many also how the floor leaves marks, like dust imprints and stuff, overworn and used. Other alternatives involving botox explore the way celebs in a way are living water bags, therefore ive created some visuals with a transparent feel and also a direct look on how they look with bags in their face. Even something so obvious like creating a whole range of people with surgery tattoos, revealing histories etc, it has a freaky nature and can re expose their unbeauty.

Patched up realities

Range of images exploring the patched up effect and covering aspects of the celeb culture, really intend to play with this classicism further and build something which exposes the dark secrets of who they are. It relates back to previous skin type stuff and exposing underneath the body and its histories. But the botox thing really needs some more research.

Prescribed Celebs

Linking back to the past food, eating, waste ideas, i began to look into different ways addiction can be interpreted. The consumerised product, the way celebrities are valued and presented to us daily. Therefore i felt the concept of addiction could be provocatively put forward to communicate how the celebrity culture is affecting us both mentally and psychically like drugs do to many people. Its a simple play on the link between celebrity culture and its shallow nature, it could be built into a mini collection, full of all the freaky tablets containing the chemicals which allow these individuals to work. Also relates to the value of celebrities and this could be used refer to weight, cost, amount etc etc for a artistic response.

what can i say. WE NEED to do this. for the good of man.




thought how we could wake people up first of all. i mean they love these people. i guess a start is always to turn on their kids. so we could adopt traits of celebrities and put them on the kids. like the kids see kids do ad.

this is incredible. u can actually buy her hair. we should get one or make one and do something with it. i keep thinking back to my idea of putting it on people on the other end of the spectrum of society i.e. homeless people or things like that. a kindergarten full of these would also look intereestingly nightmarish.

Maybe a little way from naturalism, but i felt it was appropriate. This looks into the connective parts of the lifestyle culture and how little pieces can make a whole thing, It has links to the form of lego, mechanical forms and robots, ive illustrated it to present the way we are all made of bits to make the whole thing, became interested in how we are all made from small details.  Within these works are illustrations revealing the parts or some expanded. As i say living in a detail bit culture well possibly.

Gloss Pops

Addiction,obsession,idolisation all words to associate with the celebrity way of culture. Importantly these words can relate to the system celebrities work in to attract and maintain their knownship to others worldwide. Therefore from this i have began to look into ways of interpreting this love visually and somehow refer to objects that we desire on a daily basis. For example sweets,ice cream, chocolate all have a significant relation to how celebrities are adored by millions. The connection between these two is that they always serve a aesthetic function and by transferring this purpose to the way celebrities are valued. To make this possible i have visualised the celebrity pose in a sweet like manner. to develop this concept further we could use a anything in reference to a celebrity and pour treacle or honey over it constantly to over decorate and create a very bold statement to how this culture is presented to us.

Edged Celebs

Creating a layering process of rock and dirt on the human form to present naturalistic growth  over plasticated decoration. It's a visual contrast which deals with the matter of beauty today and the way we look at it.Also it reminds me of fashion which deals with protection and shielding, and this brought me also to the concept of preservation once more and how the body is kept.
